We are looking for a skilled electrical design & commissioning engineer to join our team in Cork to design, support, oversee installation, and commission electrical systems across projects. The role ensures safe, efficient, and fully operational systems from design to handover.
Key Responsibilities
Develop electrical designs, layouts, schematics, and specifications; perform load calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection.
Review and approve technical documents, vendor submissions, and shop drawings.
Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with other disciplines.
Supervise on-site electrical installations, ensuring compliance with designs and standards.
Prepare and execute commissioning plans; test and verify power, switchgear, motors, UPS, generators, and protection systems.
Document and hand over project deliverables, including commissioning reports and as-built drawings.
Maintain health, safety, and quality compliance on all electrical works.
Qualifications & Experience
Electrician certification or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
2–5 years of experience in electrical design and commissioning.
Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, electrical standards, and industrial/commercial projects.
Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, or automation systems.
Skills & Competencies
Technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and produce electrical drawings and specifications.
Good communication, coordination, and team collaboration skills.
Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
