OpenSky Data Systems is seeking an experienced Finance Director for a part-time, onsite role based in Naas, Co. Kildare. About Us: We are a European challenger brand delivering innovative digital solutions across Government, Transport, Environment, and Health sectors in Ireland and the UK. The Role: The Finance Director will oversee core financial operations, ensure compliance, and provide strategic financial insights. Reporting to the MD and Directors, working closely with the finance manager, this role requires a collaborative, commercially minded professional to support the company's strategic direction through financial expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support financial strategy and decision-making, enhance financial reporting capabilities.
* Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team as a financial advisor.
* Conduct management accounting analyses, identify trends, and prepare reports.
* Investigate variances and provide strategic recommendations.
* Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor performance.
* Monitor costs, identify reduction opportunities, and improve margins.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
* Manage month-end close and reporting processes.
* Lead ad-hoc projects, review processes for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* ACCA/ACA qualification or equivalent.
* Minimum of 7 years in a senior finance role.
* Strong analytical and costing skills.
* Experience in SME or fast-growing tech environments.
* Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
* Proven stakeholder management skills.
* Collaborative mindset and strategic thinking.
