Town Planner and Senior Planner
Overview
Penguin Recruitment are working with Ireland's largest Planning and Environmental consultancy, seeking a Planning Practitioner to join our Planning team. The successful candidate will work on diverse projects in commercial development, residential, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Galway or Dublin.
Responsibilities
1. Lead planner on medium to large-scale planning projects
2. Draft and review planning reports and documentation
3. Project manage including budget, stakeholders, and design team members
4. Mentor junior staff
5. Undertake background research, field visits, and prepare planning assessments
6. Engage with relevant authorities and stakeholders in planning projects
7. Deliver project outputs within set deadlines
Qualifications
8. Qualification in Town Planning (IPI or RTPI Accredited)
9. Minimum 3 years' experience in planning consultancy or similar
10. Excellent report writing skills
11. Excellent working knowledge of the Irish planning system and relevant legislation
12. Commercial awareness
Day-to-day
The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects, utilizing their skills acquired through formal training and previous work experience. They will lead on planning projects, interact with project stakeholders, and deliver high-quality project outputs within set deadlines.
