We are currently seeking an Executive Chef to join our team. The position will be based primarily in Galway with regular travel required throughout the West of Ireland. Flexibility regarding work location is required depending on event schedules and business demands. A hands-on approach is vital to operationally support and lead chef teams during busy periods.You will take full ownership of food service provision across the Lydon House group. You will lead menu development, manage chef teams, oversee purchasing and ensure the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, safety, cost control and sustainability standards are met throughout our businesses.Key Responsibilities include:Working closely with the leadership team to ensure client and customer needs are met and exceeded.Using your leadership skills to create thriving and successful working environments within our restaurant businesses and at event locations.Taking ownership of food production across the group, consistently introducing new and innovative menu options, with a keen awareness of food trends.Collaborating with the HR department in relation to recruitment of full and part-time kitchen team members.Managing and deploying chef teams to ensure efficient and successful delivery of food services at event sites.Ensuring strict compliance with Food Handling & Hygiene and Health & Safety legislation and ensuring kitchen teams work effectively to achieve sustainability targets.Oversee purchasing for the group, focusing on commercial value, quality and consistency—not just price.Skillset required:Minimum 5 years in a busy Head Chef roleProven experience of managing teams across various sitesCommercially aware and highly organisedAcute awareness of current food trendsExcellent track record with Food Safety ComplianceProven ability to effectively lead teamsConversant with cost control and sustainability measuresInterested applicants should submit an updated CV together with a cover note outlining what you consider your most appropriate attributes/skillsets for this particular role.
