Position Summary:
The Project Engineering Intern is responsible for working with Project Engineering team to design, specify and commission new and renovated biopharmaceutical process and clean utility equipment.
This will be a 10-12 week program over summer break.
Hours will be Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm onsite in Fermoy.
Responsibilities:
Lead independent summer project/s focused on improving the design, cost and manufacturability of ABEC’s projects.
Assist in various stages of the project lifecycle.
Participate in frequent meetings as it relates to the progress of projects.
Support the creation and review of key Engineering / Design documentation (i.e. P+ID’s, GA’s, Detailed Design Drawings, BOM’s).
Perform calculations required for equipment verification and component sizing.
Support Company Designers on Engineering-related deliverables while meeting customer expectations for equipment requirements related to form, fit and function.
Evaluate and report project status.
Ability to work in a professional team-based office environment and meet date-driven customer-focused commitments.
Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.

Qualifications:
Obtaining bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, or biomedical)
Ability to collect, organize and analyze data.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite products such as Excel and Word, some working knowledge of 3D modelling software such as Autodesk.
Ability to read technical drawings.
Ability to collaborate and fully engage with colleagues and external partners.
Ability to organize work and engage in a variety of tasks.
Work ethic that exudes integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
