These vessel diseases can lead to heart attack, stroke, critical limb ischemia and other serious vascular conditions.**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**Under the Supervision of the site EHS Manager, assist and support the maintenance of an effective EHS management system that complies with legislative requirements, Abbott technical and management standards. Provide day to day support as an EHS Team member fostering safety and occupational health awareness on site and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES*** Schedule EHS related training for site wide employees and contractors. Facilitate induction training and manual handling training.* Under guidance of EHS Co-ordinator, create EHS communications and awareness topics for distribution site wide.* Support the Occupational Health Department to complete wellness activities including annual flu vaccines campaigns, physiotherapy sessions and ergonomic stretching.* Complete environmental testing of trade effluent and surface water in line with the site monitoring schedule.* Support sustainability initiatives and environmental protection efforts.* Work with the EHS team to complete inspections and risk assessments and provide guidance to site stakeholders related to risk reduction.* Maintain EHS records and metrics for tracking performance.**EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES*** National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline. Relevant work experience advantageous but not essential or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.* Working knowledge and application of business concepts, procedures and practices. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.* Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Has a general knowledge of technical alternatives and an understanding of their impact on the systems environment.* Plans, organizes, and prioritizes own daily work routine to meet established schedule.* Works under general supervision. Receives limited supervision on standard issues, and detailed instructions on new assignments..
