Together, we work as 'One Murphy' by directly delivering the people, plant and expertise needed to make projects a success.Main Purpose Of RoleMurphy is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to prepare analytical estimates for a project to be used within the tender submission. Following the submission of the tender, the Senior Estimator will be responsible to attend meetings, negotiate and record all changes to the tender price as required. The Senior Estimator will also be responsible for the complete tender submission as necessary. This is an exciting role with the opportunity to work on some of the largest tenders in IrelandRole DutiesAttend project start-up meetings and make site visitsProduce enquiry schedules for scope of works & packages required from the tender documentation, drawings and specifications issuedIdentify tender deliverables required from the Project DesignersEvaluate returned quotations from suppliers and where necessary enters into correspondence with suppliers to bring quotations in line with the project specification requirementsPrepare BOQ for scopes of projects on estimating programs (CCS Candy)Input to project risk register and attends a project risk meeting in the presence of Estimators, Planning Engineers, Design Co-ordinators and Clients representativesAttend tender price settlement meetings in the presence of the tender team with the Chief EstimatorAttend Tender Handover meetings in the presence of Estimators and projects teamPrepare commercial documents for tender handover to projects teamCarry out duties / functions under Murphy Quality and Health & Safety Management SystemsAssist the Chief Estimator in promoting interaction with the appropriate functional leader to facilitate successful development of solutions to problems and estimatesMake tender amendments where applicable utilising client feedback on submitted tendersAs necessary provide supports and respond to tender queries made by project team personnelIn conjunction with the Contract Manager / Senior Management review contract details relevant to the company's ability to deliver under the contractReview tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity and provide feedback to the Chief EstimatorQualifications & SkillsCSCS Card (relevant type)Degree in Quantity Surveying / Engineering /Construction Management or SimilarMinimum 7 years' construction experienceExperience of public sector clients and private sector clientsSite experience on projectsProven successful estimating experience in civil engineering, including undertaking role of an estimatorExtensive variety in types of work pricedBe able to review ITT Technical & Commercial documentation on an individual project basisGood communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade othersWhat Murphy Offer In ReturnCompetitive salary and benefitsDiscretionary annual bonus and annual salary reviewAbove market rate contributory pension scheme available from day one27 days annual leave per annum.Generous Private Healthcare AllowanceDedicated and continued investment in your professional development.Other Murphy benefits include retail discounts, cycle to work scheme etc.Murphy is unable to employ anyone who does not have the legal right to live and work in Ireland.If you have any queries, please email
