Number of roles: 25-35
Salary: Instructor: EUR16.60 - EUR23.71 per hour (depending on experience). Senior Instructor: EUR17.70 - EUR25.41 per hour (depending on experience).
Instructor Responsibilities
Provide, under direction, instruction in a variety of areas including arts, crafts, social skills, woodwork, cookery, horticulture, and independent living skills depending on people we support preferences and ability.
Instruct on courses that will include specific skills as well as social development, personal care and community integration.
Work as part of a team where work may be flexible and duties interrelate and overlap.
Establish and maintain relationships with people we support based on respect and equality, promoting their independence.
Senior Instructor Responsibilities
Act as Person in Charge in the absence of the Manager Day Services.
Plan, implement and evaluate programmes in a variety of areas including arts, crafts, social skills, woodwork, cookery, horticulture and independent living skills depending on the people we support preferences and ability.
Instruct on courses as required. These courses will include specific skills as well as social development, personal care, and community integration.
Ensure that people we support individual plans are in line with New Direction policy.
Essential Criteria
Experience in working with and supporting people who may present with behaviours that challenge.
Ability to instruct people we support in all programmes offered at Day Centres.
Full current driving licence.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem‑solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Senior Instructor Essential Criteria
Level 8 qualification in Teaching / Nursing / Applied Social Studies / Social Care / Psychology / Behaviour Analysis OR
Level 7 relevant studies for role and minimum 4 years' experience working with people with intellectual disabilities including autism.
Previous experience working with people with an intellectual disability, complex needs, and communication difficulties.
Experience in education/training.
Ability to instruct service users in all programmes offered at Adult Day Centres, and QQI modules delivered in Rehabilitative Training.
Full current driving licence.
