Home and Away Care is a preferred provider of Homecare on behalf of the HSE and privately. We provide Patient Centred homecare for all ages but primarily for the older person. In addition, we offer Home Healthcare support through monitoring specific and general health issues and changes, in an effort to improve the Health and Quality of Life of the patient.We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing who will contribute to delivering a high standard of care to our patients/clients. This is a full time position.The primary role of the Director of Nursing will be one of:Professional/Clinical leadership. As DON, you will oversee all aspects of clinical governance and care delivery in the community, ensuring high standards of safety, dignity, and well-being for all service users.Liaise with and develop positive relationships with potential and current Service users and their families as well as with other healthcare professionals/HSEAssist in further developing the company and enhancing its reputation by ensuring a high quality service provision to all clients/families/stakeholdersSupporting the Homecare Team including the Care Manager, the HR team and the frontline care providers in coordination and developing the service.ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic and operational leadershipEnsure that overall standards and Governance are maintained at the highest level.Ensure compliance with HIQA and NMBI standardsLead and support a multidisciplinary care teamLiaise with the management team to ensure the delivery of excellent care to all clients.Lead in clinical management including providing Nursing care and communicating with clients/families/representatives, managing staff, monitoring performance and standards, developing policies and procedures, and delivering training.Coordinate the quality and safety system including all aspects of risk management.Assist in recruitment, training, staffing, professional development coaching and appraisal of care staff.In consultation with HR, participate in grievance and disciplinary activitiesAssist with Care Coordination, managing care plans, audits, staff rostering in conjunction with the Home and Away Care management team.Provide assistance in developing the business.Lead by example a professional, punctual, and dedicated team.Participate in the development of policies and standards for Home and Away CareWhat we offer:Excellent salaryContinuous Professional Development and TrainingEmployee Assistance ProgrammeA supportive organisationEssential Criteria:Active NMBI RegistrationEvidence of continuous professional development.Have not less than 3 years' experience in nursing older persons in the last 6 years.Have a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience.A post registration management qualification in health or a related field.Not less than 3 years' experience in a management/supervisory capacity in the health and social care areaPost registration qualification in dementia care and gerontology, highly desirable.The ability to communicate effectively with clients, family members, team members, management and external bodies e.g. PHN, OT, HSE, GPs etcHave the ability to manage one's own workload effectively while responding flexibly to new demands at short notice.Demonstrate an ability to embrace change and be committed to continuous improvement and learning.Have the skill to influence others, build constructive relationships and achieve outcomes.Promote an ethos and culture of quality assurance within the clinical area, identifying and establishing benchmarks and KPIs in consultation with the Director and the HSE.Be available to work flexible hours and join the on-call roster when required.Good IT skillsStrong organisational and clinical skillsTeam-focused, with a commitment and passion for Elderly CareJob Type: Full-timePay: €60,320.00-€72,800.00 per yearBenefits:Employee assistance programFlexitimeLanguage:Fluent in English - verbal and written (required)Licence/Certification:Active NMBI registration (required)Location:Cork, CO.
