A well-established engineering-led manufacturer is expanding its R&D team and hiring an Electrical & Controls Design Engineer to develop advanced cooling technologies for data centres, AI/HPC, and industrial applications
This is a hands-on R&D role covering electrical design, controls architecture, and instrumentation, with involvement from concept through prototype and validation.

The Role
Design electrical architectures (power, control, safety circuits)
Produce schematics and wiring diagrams (AutoCAD Electrical or similar)
Select components including VSDs, EC motors, relays, actuators, compressors
Define sensors and instrumentation across air, water, and refrigerant circuits
Develop controls architecture diagrams, I/O lists, and cable schedules
Support testing, validation, and continuous design improvement
Requirements
Degree in Electrical, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering
3+ years' experience in electrical, controls, or instrumentation design
Strong schematic and control circuit design capability
Experience with sensors, industrial I/O, and wiring practices
Currently based in Carrigaline, with R&D relocating to Little Island by the end of the year.
