Business Development Manager - Foodservices
My client is a well-loved Irish brand and, due to phenomenal growth, is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to grow their Foodservices brand. There is a family feel to the business and culture; no egos are tolerated and everyone works together. They have achieved double-digit growth and, while thriving in Retail, are growing their export market and want someone to take hold of the Foodservices arm of the business. Kate, the Commercial Director, believes there is significant opportunity to develop the Foodservices division and is a strong advocate for this position.
An attractive remuneration package is on offer with benefits; bonus. You must have at least 2-3 years Foodservice sales experience.
Main Responsibilities
* To develop and maintain customer relationships with both wholesalers and end users
* Achieve all key trade performance indicators including volume, product distribution, promotional execution, product placement etc..
* Ensure our brands are well represented, available to customers and priced appropriately.
* Conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Plan/carry out/support marketing activities to agreed budgets and timescales e.g., product launches, promotions.
* Have the attention to detail and experience of getting contracts over the line
* Develop and maintain full product knowledge of all our products, accessories, prices and key features of major competitors.
* Interface with cross functional employees including national accounts, sales support, finance, warehouse & marketing
* Responsible for representing the full portfolio at Trade shows and sales meetings.
* Monitor and report on market and competitor activities, providing accurate and relevant reports and information.
* Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate means to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
Key Requirements
* Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
* Minimum of 3 years Sales Experience within a Food Service sales role.
* Numerate, with good literacy skills.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
* Experience selling premium brands in a highly competitive environment.
* Sales personality that demonstrates patience, persistence & tenacity for the sales process.
* High-energy self-starter who can work independently and take direction when needed.
* Ability to implement sales and marketing initiative (Promotions etc.)
* Ambitious, pro-active and energetic in developing new business.
