We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Spiddal, Galway.
Responsibilities:
Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D production drawings for vehicle components, chassis structures, subframes, and body panels.
Assist in concept development, prototype builds, and implementation of engineering changes.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve design or assembly challenges on the production floor.
Participate in design validation and technical reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and weight specifications.
Coordinate with external suppliers to define materials, purchased components, and required manufacturing tolerances.
Maintain accurate design records, technical documentation, and drawing control systems.
Support continuous improvement activities across design and manufacturing processes.
Contribute to cost evaluations, project scheduling, and quality review meetings alongside senior management.
Requirements:
Degree or qualification in Mechanical, Automotive, or Design Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and automotive standards.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
