Senior Mechanical Engineer Hospital Projects (Cork) Key Projects You will lead the mechanical design and delivery of multiple major hospital projects in Cork.If you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.Typical projects include: Acute Hospital Expansion & New Clinical Facilities Delivery of mechanical services for large-scale hospital expansions, including operating theatres, ICU, diagnostics, and inpatient wards within live hospital environments.Hospital Decarbonisation & Plant Upgrades Replacement and upgrade of central plant, heating and cooling systems, ventilation infrastructure, and energy-efficient solutions to support net-zero healthcare objectives.Live Hospital Refurbishment & Phased Works Complex refurbishment and upgrade projects within operational hospitals, requiring careful coordination, infection control management, and staged delivery.Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Extensive experience delivering hospital and healthcare projects (essential) Proven track record on acute hospitals and live clinical environments In-depth knowledge of healthcare mechanical systems: HVAC and specialist ventilation, medical gas systemss, critical heating and cooling plant, pressure regimes and infection control Strong understanding of healthcare standards, regulations, and compliance Experience leading multiple projects concurrently Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Responsibilities Lead the mechanical design and delivery of multiple hospital projects Act as the mechanical technical authority across healthcare schemes Manage projects from concept design through construction and commissioning Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams and clinical stakeholders Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, HTM/HBN, and Irish standards Mentor and manage junior engineering xsokbrc staff Review contractor submissions, respond to technical queries, and carry out site inspections Manage risks, programme constraints, and live hospital interfaces Represent the consultancy at client, contractor, and stakeholder meetings Benefits €100,000 base salary + benefits Comprehensive benefits package Senior leadership role with high autonomy Long-term career progression within a healthcare-focused consultancy Opportunity to lead critical hospital infrastructure projects in Cork If you are an engineer looking for a move, send your CV to Grace Birch or call.
