We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Care Assistant/Support Worker to join our team, providing essential services for adults and children with intellectual disabilities and/or autism in Waterford City and County.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to promoting independence, empowerment, and social inclusion for service users. Key responsibilities include:
* Organizing recreational, educational, and training programs
* Fostering social skills and encouraging independence
* Implementing person-centered approaches and respecting dignity and autonomy
* Carrying out risk assessments and reviews to ensure well-being
* Supporting medication management and creating a safe environment
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A minimum of QQI Level 5 in Health Care/Social Care or equivalent qualification
* At least 1 year's experience working as a Care Assistant, preferably in an ID setting
* A full clean driving license
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as leadership, resilience, and empathy
