Assistant Financial ControllerAbout the Role:Support the Financial Controller in managing the day-to-day finance operations of a hotel, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and ongoing support to hotel management. This role also contributes to team development, process improvements, and commercial decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Oversee daily finance operations, reporting to the Financial Controller.Ensure accurate financial records and produce timely reports.Regularly review and reconcile balance sheet accounts.Assist with internal audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.Work with department heads to embed financial accountability and best practices.Continuously improve financial procedures for better efficiency and control.Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant financial regulations.Handle queries from internal teams and external stakeholders.Support accounts payable and receivable functions.Review income audits and weekly bank reconciliations.Prepare and submit VAT returns.Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting (weekly, monthly, and annual).Manage payroll processes, including analysis and controls.Help implement cost-saving measures and monitor overheads.Prepare performance reports with KPIs and benchmarking data.Ensure financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet) align with the trial balance.About You:Strong communication, organisation, and analytical skills.Experience in accounting; hospitality or food & beverage background preferred.Qualified or part-qualified accountant (preferred but not essential).Proactive and capable of taking initiative.Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate across departments.
