We are now recruiting an Environmental Health and Safety ( EHS) Manager to join our talented and ambitious team in AbbVie, Westport, Co.
Mayo.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Environmental Health and Safety, you will lead an EHS team in managing EHS Programs to ensure the health, safety, welfare and wellbeing of our employees, contractors, and local community onsite.
If great benefits, a defined career path, and work-life balance are important in your next career move, then read on to find out more: Key activities you will perform in the role: Lead a team of EHS Professionals to develop and execute EHS plans, effectively supporting the Business Unit structure onsite, projects and engineering operations, while ensuring compliance and excellence in all aspects of EHS.
Lead and oversee key EHS Programs at the site, including but not limited to Contractor Safety; LOTO; Confined Space Entry; Hot Work; Work at Height; ATEX; Process Safety; Laser Safety; Machinery Safety; Electrical Safety.
Implement a range of EHS programs in conjunction with the EHS Team – e.g. EHS Auditing; Risk Assessment; Permit to Work; EHS Promotional Activities; Accident/Incident Investigation; EHS Training.
Lead and Maintain ISO certification for ISO ***** and ISO ***** management systems.
Create a strong "Zero Believe It, Achieve It. I Will" incident and injury-free safety culture.
Motivate, energise, and influence the BU (Business Unit) management team to implement fresh, leading-edge EHS programs, initiatives, and activities effectively.
Engage and empower managers and employees to highlight and implement continuous safety improvements.
Partner with the wider leadership team to ensure a strong embedded culture of EHS onsite.
Provide input to EHS Goal Setting, EHS Senior Management Reviews and Capital Planning Processes.
Ensure effective risk identification and mitigation, compliance with EHS requirements, and achievement of EHS KPIs.
Collaborate with the H.S.A. and other bodies as appropriate Ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of CAPAs for accident/incident investigations.
Delegate to the Associate Director, EHS as necessary.
Qualifications The educational background and preferred experience we look for: Degree in Environmental Health Safety, Science/Engineering, Environmental Science or similar.
10 years related experience in pharmaceutical / medical device or other industrial setting.
Proven track record of leading projects and/or people.
Experience of leading EHS on construction projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of Irish environmental, health and safety regulations and industry best practices Experience in the implementation and management of IS******* and ***** certified systems.
Excellent cross functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders/partners Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal, communication, organisation and decision-making skills Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining close attention to detail.
