About The Role

Fluency in Spanish is required.

Our sales teams work directly with notable brands and entrepreneurs to develop their commerce strategies — whether starting or expanding their e-commerce or brick & mortar operations.

We're looking for highly motivated sales professionals to join our team as an Account Executive on our SMB Acquisition team This role offers a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career with a company that values growth and provides continuous opportunities for advancement.

Role Overview:

As an Account Executive on the SMB team, you will drive new business opportunities and expand our reach within the SMB market. This position is suited for sales professionals passionate about helping smaller businesses grow and succeed.

Candidates must be able to source their own sales opportunities and navigate organizations with multiple stakeholders through the entire sales cycle. You will leverage your selling experience and have opportunities to influence Shopify's broader Revenue organization through mentorship, methodologies, and strategy as we explore new ways to reach more merchants. You'll strengthen internal partnerships and utilize those to transform our merchants' businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

* Engage prospects to understand their business goals, challenges, and needs, providing tailored Shopify solutions.
* Develop and execute strategic plans to identify and target potential SMB customers.
* Lead outreach efforts via calls, emails, and social media to qualify leads and generate interest.
* Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract signing, maintaining an accurate pipeline.
* Collaborate with marketing, solution engineering, and customer success teams to enhance client outcomes.
* Stay updated on product features, industry trends, and market dynamics to advise merchants effectively.
* Proactively source and build your sales pipeline, demonstrating forecasting and prioritization skills.

We are currently seeking an SMB Account Executive for:

* UK and Southern Europe markets

This is a remote position based in the UK or Ireland.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

* Proficiency in English; native or bilingual proficiency in Spanish and ideally French.
* Proven success in a closing sales or Sales Development role within the SMB segment.
* Passion for hunting and acquiring new business with a consultative approach.
* Ability to navigate complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, including C-levels.
* Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and sales engagement platforms preferred.
* Strong communication skills to build trust and convey Shopify's value.
* Self-motivated, results-driven, with a tenacious approach to closing deals.
* Comfort with outbound prospecting and territory management.

Bonus Experience:

* Experience in New Business Sales & Sales Development.
* Knowledge of industries like Ecommerce, Fintech, Retail, Hospitality.
* Experience selling POS systems is a plus.
* Familiarity with MEDDICC, BANT, Challenger sales methodologies is a plus.
