Health & Safety Coordinator required by leading mechanical engineering SME company based in South Tipperary with operations across Ireland, the UK, Poland and beyond, delivering design, fabrication, procurement, installation, maintenance, project management, and engineering services to a wide range of industries.
Key Responsibilities will include:- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSE policies and procedures across all sites.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
Assist with the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments, and permits-to-work.
Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and health & safety training for employees and subcontractors.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain accurate HSE records, including training logs, incident registers, and inspection reports.
Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Irish and EU legislation and industry best practice.
Liaise with project managers, supervisors, and regulatory authorities as required.
Role will suit: - A relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline (NEBOSH/IOSH preferred).
35 years experience in a health & safety role, ideally within construction, engineering, or heavy industry.
Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, standards, and best practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and in?uence teams at all levels.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Flexibility to travel to different sites as required.
