Project Design Electrical Engineer, DCC Communities - Job ID: | Amazon Data Services Ireland Limited
As a Design Electrical Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, remediate issues, upgrade existing infrastructure and add new services.
You will be the go-to engineering resource for these projects and provide lifecycle support from design through implementation.
Responsibilities
Use your electrical expertise to perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, environmental health and safety teams, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions, and act as a technical subject matter expert for your discipline.
Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.
Be detail- and data-oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes.
Experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants.
Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction, and Design).
Day in the life
Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for various aspects of the data centers.
You will mentor and oversee the work of junior engineers in your discipline.
You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally and globally, with up to 25% travel.

Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
8+ cumulative years of design experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities.
(Experienced Engineer)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
3+ years of data center design experience.
Chartered Engineer.
Prior project management experience; PMP/Prince2.
