You will be instrumental in shaping our data and insights strategy, leading key projects, and providing technical and strategic expertise. Play a key role in the AI Innovation Lab, supporting the design, management, and delivery of analytical insights and solutions through data analysis, data management, and data science. Primary activities include delivering technical, business strategic expertise, and ensuring proper governance of data sources, models, attributes, and analytic platforms. This role demands strong AI and machine learning skills, a passion for innovation, and the ability to mentor and lead within a collaborative team. Proven ability to collaborate effectively and a passion for pushing the boundaries of AI are essential. You will lead from the data engineering perspective, contribute to AI projects, develop and implement AI models, mentor junior analysts, conduct data analysis and interpretation, and stay up-to-date with the latest AI trends and technologies.
What You'll Do:
Enable the organization to effectively leverage its data assets for decision-making, innovation, and strategic growth. Use engineering skills to optimize data processing and storage systems for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Roles in this family involve a combination of software engineering, database management, and data analysis.
1. Apply knowledge of data characteristics and data supply patterns, develop rules, and tracking processes to support data quality models.
2. Prepare data for analytical use by building data pipelines from multiple sources and systems.
3. Integrate, consolidate, cleanse, and structure data for client solutions.
4. Design, create, and interpret large and complex datasets.
5. Stay updated with trends and advancements in GCP and related technologies, actively proposing and evaluating new solutions.
6. Understand best practices for data management, maintenance, reporting, and security, and use that knowledge to improve solutions.
7. Implement security best practices in pipelines and infrastructure.
8. Develop and implement data quality checks, troubleshoot anomalies.
9. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, review dataset implementations.
What Experience You Need:
- BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent; Master's preferred
- 5+ years of experience as a data engineer or related role
- Cloud certification preferred
- Advanced skills in Python or SQL, intermediate scripting experience
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform and cloud computing concepts
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, troubleshooting, data transformation
- Designing and implementing complex data models, optimizing performance
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD
- Ability to operate independently, solve complex problems, make decisions within guidelines
- Solid data analysis, machine learning, and AI development experience
- Hands-on with cloud-based AI platforms, strong analytical skills
- Effective communication, teamwork, presentation, and visualization skills
