Clinical Nurse Manager II ICU (Contract, full time, 1 year) The post-holder reports to the Assistant Director of Nursing Divisional Lead ICU / Theatres and is professionally accountable to the Director of Nursing Responsibilities - The post holder will be responsible for; Provide specialist, knowledge, expertise, and care for critically ill patients using their specialist clinical knowledge and clinical skills.
Act as positive and accountable role model in providing direct patient care.
Assess, evaluate, and review the requirements of individual patient needs Manage patient care to ensure the highest professional standards using an evidence-based care planning approach.
Identify objectives, evaluate, and manage the implementation of best practice, policies, and procedures.
Develop leadership skills to create a suitable environment and effective team working Foster positive working relationships between colleagues and other staff.
Ensure new members to the clinical area are made feel welcome and a have adequate support.
Engage in continuing professional development by keeping up to date with nursing literature, recent nursing research and new developments in nursing management, education and practice and to attend staff study days as considered appropriate Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership Provide supervision and assist in the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes of staff and assigned students Ensure that modern standards of clinical nursing care are in operation and that regular monitoring of Nursing and nursing support staff care is undertaken through audit Use the outcomes of audit to develop action plans and support their implementation Educate all nursing and nursing support staff including orientation of new staff to develop excellent work practises The extent to which there is patient satisfaction with nursing /Para nursing care.
The extent to which good working relationships are fostered and maintained throughout the nursing service and between nursing and other disciplines.
The effectiveness of performance in relation to Human Resource management and development.
Eligibility Criteria: (a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann) or entitled to be so registered.
And Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregrate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the speciality or related area.
And Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role And Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
And (b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
