Abbott Diabetes Care's new Kilkenny site specializes in Diabetes care technology, manufacturing FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and sensors, including brands like FreeStyle Precision, Lite, and Libre systems.
Main Purpose of the Role
As part of the Business Excellence team, the Operational Excellence & Lean Specialist will drive continuous improvement initiatives at the Kilkenny site. This role suits a results-oriented professional passionate about Lean methodologies, cross-functional collaboration, and measurable business impact.
Main Responsibilities
1. Lead and support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
2. Facilitate workshops and Kaizen events to identify and implement process improvements.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact projects aligned with strategic goals.
4. Apply Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to enhance efficiency and eliminate waste.
5. Track and report project outcomes, ensuring tangible business benefits.
6. Support the development and deployment of standard work and best practices.
7. Promote a culture of continuous improvement through coaching and training.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related field.
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is required; Black Belt is desirable.
* Proven experience leading or supporting cross-functional project teams.
* Successful project delivery with measurable benefits.
* Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.
* Experience in a regulated manufacturing or healthcare environment is a plus.
