This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified electrical engineer to join our well‑established Electrical Design Engineering Team, working on Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant projects.
In this role, you will support the production of detailed Electrical and Instrumentation designs, gaining hands‑on experience in all aspects of electrical design for treatment facilities. You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure designs are delivered accurately, efficiently, and within project timelines and budgets.
This position offers the chance to develop your technical skills while collaborating with a wide range of professionals, including internal teams, suppliers, and clients. Job Description
Day to Day Role
Will gain experience liaising with Electrical Supply Board (ESB) in Ireland
Design and selection of Instrumentation for Water and WasteWater process
Evaluation of the client specifications from Industrial Clients and Municipal Clients
Preparation of Electrical Technical Designs & Submissions
Design of electrical distribution and general services (lighting, fire and intruder alarms and containment systems)
Design and development of Electrical Panels including schematic review (MCC, LCP, MDB etc)
Development of automation hardware and system network architecture
Prepare Cable, IO & Power schedules
Evaluation and selection of sub‑contractors and suppliers
Preparation of procurement specifications and quotation evaluations
Liaise with other departments i.e. design, contracts, control & automation etc
Understanding and ability to update single line diagrams, panel schematics and wiring diagrams
Preparation of FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) documentation and FAT attendance
Preparation of Control Philosophies
Gain knowledge of Irish Standards, European Norm, Water Industry Standards (WIMES) & IEC standards and implement in the day to day role
Travel to site occasionally as required to support design activities
Qualifications
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (level 7 or Higher in Electrical Engineering)
Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment industry preferable
Highly organised and efficient
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Excellent IT skills
Attention to detail
Strong technical knowledge
Team player and ability to work on own initiative
