Location:
DCU Sport (inc. Sports Complex, Soccer Centre, Sports Campus, St. Patrick's Campus, Morton Stadium), Dublin City University, Glasnevin, Dublin 9.

Operations Manager, DCU Sport
Contract:
3 years
Salary:
€26,491-€31,150, payable monthly. CPD Programme, Gym Membership.
Purpose Of This Role
The purpose of this post is to deliver high quality, energetic and dynamic group fitness classes as part of our group fitness schedule. The successful applicant will also design programmes for members and ensure people using the gym do so in the correct manner at all times.
Key Duties
* To supervise the gym.
* To design gym programmes for members as required.
* To teach dynamic and effective group fitness classes.
* Provide one-to-one gym floor support, offering advice, encouragement, and technical guidance.
* Conduct fitness assessments, inductions, and personalized program development.
* Monitor member safety, equipment usage, and general gym etiquette.
* Build positive relationships with members to encourage participation and retention
* To attend all organised staff development and training sessions as required and keep up to date with industry trends and ongoing training.
* To teach on our Active for Life programme for older adults.
* Assist with promotional activities, member challenges, and special events.
* To ensure that all policies and procedures in place are followed and adhered to.
* To assist in maintaining and improving a high standard of hygiene, quality & service.
* To have a flexible approach to working hours as weekend roster applies.
* To deal with any guest / member queries and complaints in a professional manner.
* To deal with a wide variety of members of the public both general and special populations.
* To support the organisation in achieving its goals and objectives.
Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time by the Duty Managers or Senior Management Team or ad-hoc duties, which can arise.
Personal Specification
* Educational Standards – Recognised Fitness Instructors Qualification (e.g., EQF Level 3 / REPs Ireland / ITEC / NCEF or equivalent), REPS accreditation.
* Work Experience – 1 year in a similar role.
* A positive attitude, highly motivated and an organised approach to the position.
* Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
* Experience leading fitness classes and working on a gym floor.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Motivated, reliable, and professional with a passion for health and fitness
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience with older adults, beginners, or special populations is a plus
Essential Training
The successful candidate will be required to undertake essential compliance training – Data protection, Child Protection and Cyber Security as required by DCU Sport, further essential training will be required throughout.
