He/she supports and assists clients in all activities of daily living in line with the needs and wishes of the individual and as outlined in an agreed care plan. As directed, the Care Assistant supports the provision of a high quality, clean and customer focused service including attending to housekeeping, catering, laundry, portering or general duties as assigned.Duties assigned to the Care Assistant will vary depending on the care setting.Essential CriteriaEligibility Criteria Qualifications and/or ExperienceCandidates must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the post:1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etca) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:(i) Hold a FETAC Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support of whichincludes completion of the Intellectual Disability Studies Module andthe Activities of Daily Living Module.Or(ii) Hold a FETAC Level 5 qualification in Health Service Skills of whichincludes completion of the Intellectual Disability Studies Module andthe Activities of Daily Living ModuleOr(iii) A relevant health care qualification equivalent to (i) or (ii) aboveAnd(b) Candidates must have the personal competence and capacity to properly discharge the duties of the role.2.
