St. Joseph's Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for people with intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1968 the Foundation has grown through continuously responding to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. The Foundation presently provides early intervention, pre-school, school, adult day services, residential, respite care, elder care and home support in the North Cork and South West Limerick region. We have day services in Charleville, Liskennett and Mitchelstown with residential services in Co Limerick: Ballylanders, Croom, Ballyagran, Bruree, Kilmallock, Dromcollogher and in Co Cork: Charleville, Dromina, Newtownshandrum, Buttevant and Newmarket.

Requirements
 * National Pool Lifeguard Certification
 * A 3rd level Degree in Sport & Recreation (Desirable)
 * A high degree of flexibility
 * Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability/autism is an advantage
Job Goal
To provide LOCUM lifeguard cover and to facilitate the safe and efficient running of the hydrotherapy pool
Duties & Responsibilities
 * To be responsible for the duties assigned by the Pool Supervisors
 * Ensure the participation of as many service users as possible in a swimming programme
 * Maintain continuous surveillance of swimmers within the pool and surrounding area
 * Provide safety information to swimmers as required
 * Supervise swimmers to ensure they are swimming within safety protocols
 * Perform rescues in the event of swimming accidents / drowning
 * Perform CPR / First Aid in the event of an adverse incident
 * Perform pool chemical checks to ensure safety and hygiene
 * Be responsible for the maintenance of equipment within the hydro-therapy pool
 * To be familiar with all relevant St. Joseph\'s Foundation policies and procedures
 * To adhere to policy relating to use and maintenance of hydro-therapy pool
 * To maintain the hydrotherapy department in a clean and orderly manner at all times
 * Ensure that all accidents/incidents, no matter how small, are reported and documented
 * To keep documentation, reports and records as required
