Custom Development Lead
This is a leadership role that oversees the design, implementation, and delivery of bespoke software solutions across the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong development background combined with excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate custom software development projects across multiple departments and teams.
* Collaborate directly with customers and internal stakeholders to gather, document, and refine business requirements.
* Translate customer needs into technical specifications and actionable development plans.
* Oversee internal and external development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
* Ensure projects are delivered using up-to-date development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps, CI/CD).
* Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor developers as needed.
* Track project milestones, deliverables, and timelines, reporting status updates to the Head of IT.
* Assess and implement tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve development efficiency and quality.
* Ensure solutions are robust, secure, scalable, and meet defined quality standards.
* Manage risks, troubleshoot issues, and resolve blockers across multiple projects.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
* Project management or Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, PMP).
* Background in developing or overseeing enterprise-grade applications or platforms.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in software development (e.g., .NET, JavaScript, Python, or similar).
* Experience managing or leading development teams or projects.
* Strong understanding of modern development practices, architecture, and lifecycle management.
* Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and manage the development process end-to-end.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong organizational and project management skills.
* Familiarity with source control (e.g., Git), issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira), and development pipelines.
