Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Community Adult Mental Health Team in Longford.
This is an ideal role for an experienced Occupational Therapist who wants to work autonomously but within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a diverse caseload of adults with varying mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders.
* Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to identify functional needs and inform care planning.
* Develop and deliver individualized interventions focused on improving daily living skills, community participation, vocational goals, and social engagement.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create recovery-focused care plans tailored to each service user.
* Participate in discharge planning, transition support, and liaison with primary care, community supports, and family members or carers.
* Supervise and support junior Occupational Therapists or students as required.
* Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical documentation in line with best practice standards.
* Contribute to service improvement initiatives, including protocol development, audits, and outcome measurement.
* Promote mental health awareness and advocate for occupational therapy within the wider community and MDT.
Essential Requirements:
* BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognized by CORU).
* CORU registration is essential.
* A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in adult mental health.
* Experience delivering occupational therapy in the community.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing a diverse caseload.
* A full driver's license and access to own transport are essential.
