Our Client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and systems-savvy Manufacturing Systems Expert to join their operations team. This is a key role focused on ensuring the integrity and efficient functioning of manufacturing systems and data processes across multiple platforms.
The successful candidate will support the manufacturing function by managing data accuracy, troubleshooting system issues, and providing user support and training. You will play a vital role in coordinating between production, supply chain, finance, and IT to drive continuous improvement and ensure systems are aligned and optimised to support business needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform cycle count checks and ensure stock alignment across manufacturing and ERP systems.
* Conduct scheduled stocktakes, including the annual full-site inventory reconciliation.
* Monitor and adjust backflush materials, working with the master data team on factor adjustments where needed.
* Verify material consumption records in MES and SAP, ensuring accurate closure (TECO) of production orders.
* Investigate and correct problem stock issues daily to ensure system reliability.
* Resolve crashed iDocs/COGI errors, ensuring smooth data flow between systems.
* Enter missing or corrective transactions in TKD or other relevant manufacturing systems.
* Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and One Point Lessons (OPLs).
* Coach and train the manufacturing team on the correct and efficient use of systems.
* Rectify incorrect product declarations across MES, SAP, and related systems.
* Collaborate with the finance department during month-end closure, resolving issues promptly to meet deadlines.
* Investigate discrepancies in production orders, including unexpected activities or consumption levels.
* Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and simulations for WISE, Tekdan, SAP, and other platforms.
* Support cross-functional projects, providing manufacturing systems expertise in new system development or enhancement initiatives.
* Set up new users on systems and deliver hands-on training and onboarding support.
* Configure systems for product trials and new product introductions, ensuring readiness for go-live.
* Liaise with external system vendors (WISE, DANIS, GEA), including ticket management and issue resolution.
* Attend and contribute to the weekly Raws and Stocks meeting.
* Run, build, and distribute custom reports and data summaries as required.
* Maintain and update WISE master data upon request.
* Serve as the Poka system administrator: create forms, build plant structures, and support users.
Experience & Qualifications
* Proven experience working with manufacturing systems in a production environment or similar.
* Strong familiarity with SAP modules and their interaction within a multinational organisation.
* Relevant third-level qualification in a technical, engineering, or business discipline.
* Excellent skills in data entry, processing, and system management.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and report on process data.
* Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in a systems-focused role.
* Effective communicator with a proactive approach to process improvement and team collaboration.
