Location
Rindoon Adult Services – Athlone, Kilteevan, Roscommon Town areas. Staff allocation may change due to future service needs.
The Role
Social Care Workers provide supportive and advocative care for adults with intellectual disabilities, focusing on each individual's ability, promoting independence and skill development. The role supports person-centred plans, informed choices, community participation, inclusive practices, and positive risk taking.
Reporting to
Team Leader / Team Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered with or eligible to register with CORU by November 2025.
* A full clean manual driving licence (class D1 licence support provided).
* Experience working with people with intellectual disability/autism/complex needs desirable; induction and training provided.
* Fluency in verbal and written English and proficiency in IT skills.

Working Hours
Up to 39 hours per week based on a 7 day/night duty roster. No minimum guaranteed hours. 14‑day duty roster; flexible for split duty hours, public holidays, evening/night duty and sleep‑ins.
Annual Leave
22 days per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time). Appropriate service related leave after 5 and 10 years.
Remuneration
Department of Health Social Care Worker salary scale (as of 01/08/2025): €40,351. X 11 increments – €55,599 per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time). Long service increment €56,650 per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time) payable after 3 years.
Tenure
1‑Year Temporary Fixed Term and Pensionable.
