Overview:
The Behavioural Specialist will provide expert support and intervention for individuals with behavioural challenges, implementing evidence-based strategies to enhance the quality of life and promote positive behavioural change. This role is crucial in assessing, developing, and delivering tailored interventions aimed at improving outcomes for individuals within the service.
Key Responsibilities:

Assessment & Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments of individuals with challenging behaviours, developing personalised behavioural intervention plans based on evidence-based practices.

Program Development: Design, implement, and monitor behavioural programs that focus on improving social, emotional, and cognitive functioning, ensuring the inclusion of individuals within their communities.

Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (including psychologists, social workers, and health care professionals) to provide integrated care and support.

Training & Support: Provide training and guidance to staff, caregivers, and other professionals on behavioural strategies, ensuring consistency in the application of interventions.

Monitoring & Evaluation: Regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of behavioural interventions and adjust strategies as necessary to ensure the best outcomes for individuals.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and progress, in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Advocacy: Advocate for individual's rights and needs, ensuring that behavioural interventions are respectful, ethical, and person-centred.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field (Master's level preferred).

Minimum of 2 years experience in behavioural analysis and intervention, ideally working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.

Knowledge of ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis), PBS (Positive Behaviour Support), or similar behavioural frameworks.

Proven ability to assess behavioural issues, develop intervention plans, and deliver training.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Full, clean driver's license and access to own transport (desirable).
Desirable Skills:

Certification or additional training in behavioural analysis or therapy.

Experience with adults or children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities.

Knowledge of relevant policies, best practices, and legislative requirements within the health care or social care sector.
