Purpose of Role
Support the Managing pharmacist in the dispensary in a busy and challenging environment. Work to agreed operating procedures to maintain ethical standards and deliver excellent customer care.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Accurately receive, record and assemble prescriptions, issue receipts and notify pharmacists of changes in drug therapy and interactions.
* Serve customers over the counter medicines and other pharmacy products.
* Fulfill requests for specific OTC medicines using WWHAM questioning and refer to the pharmacist where appropriate.
* Maintain computer records and keep paperwork for various schemes up to date.
* Report any errors or safety issues promptly to the Managing Pharmacist and/or Business Territory Manager.
* Keep stock control, rotation, appropriate levels, correct suppliers and accurate delivery details.
* Maintain a clean and tidy Pharmacy, reporting Health & Safety issues promptly.
* Follow Pharmacy SOPs, maintaining consistent professional standards.
* Assist with over-the-counter sales and other front-of-counter duties.
* Perform any other duties as required.

* Support other stakeholders within the pharmacy and the Allcare Network to achieve company goals.
* Demonstrate pro-activity and work on own initiative.
* Build positive relationships with colleagues, customers and other healthcare professionals.
* Participate in staff training programmes and proactively develop the role function.
* Work effectively as part of the Pharmacy team, being flexible and adaptable across all areas of operation.

* Provide advice and information on all product ranges to customers.
* Deliver professional and efficient customer service at all times, enhancing relationships with pharmacy customers.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required
* IPU Pharmacy Technician course or Higher Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies.
* Preferably 2 years pharmacy technician experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational skills, able to multitask in a busy environment.
* Cashier experience an advantage.
* Discretion in addressing customer queries and strict confidentiality of patient information.
* IT skills an advantage.
