On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking anAssistant Accountantto join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will support core general ledger, reporting, and tax-related activities, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.The successful candidate will gain exposure to month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, tax and statutory reporting, and audit support within a professional, fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport day-to-day general ledger accounting activitiesAssist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesPrepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustmentsPerform balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations and follow up on variancesSupport profit & loss analysis and reporting for managementAssist with VAT, corporate tax, and regulatory reporting requirementsProvide information and support for statutory and external auditsEnsure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and proceduresCollaborate with internal teams including tax, treasury, legal, and shared servicesContribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance functionSupport other general accounting and reporting tasks as requiredSkills & Experience2+ years' experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within a multinational or structured environmentStrong understanding of general ledger accounting principlesExperience using an ERP system/sStrong Excel and Microsoft Office skillsGood analytical skills with strong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProactive, flexible, and team-oriented approachQualificationsDegree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplinePart-qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is desirable
