The prime function of this position is work with the existing team to ensure that the targets are met on a day-to-day basis.
This is a hands-on role in a busy warehouse. You will be tasked to oversee goods movements, container loading, order processing and to maintain the smooth running of the warehouse. You will support by managing the inventory of warehouse stocks and being responsible for the intake and dispatch of products and their internal movements, while also providing up to date information both internally and externally, ensuring all requirements are met. You must deliver and adhere to the organisation's business values. As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will also oversee and maintain a good relationship with the staff, whilst promoting a culture where health and safety / hygiene and customer service is a priority.
Responsibilities:
· Adhere to site safety rules.
· Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks as well as putting product away.
· Inbound Team Leader is responsible for loading/unloading trucks.
· Picking/Processing orders - Team Leader is responsible for ensuring loading of container/trailers
· Adhere to organisation's business values and quality and customer service standards.
· Ensure that all instructions from you direct line manager are carried out accurately and efficiently.
· To lead all warehouse operatives on site and ensure that all daily deadlines are adhered to
· Assist with the effective management of warehousing, stocks, staff, training etc.
· Checking inbound deliveries accurately as per company SOPs.
· Keeping detailed records in the system of what is in the warehouse, and where fellow staff can find specific products.
· Responsible for the storage of goods.
· Oversee job duties and responsibilities on shift.
· Ensure that checks are carried out on condition of goods for dispatch, trailer and preparation of delivery dockets
· Responsible for staff scheduled on their shift.
· Ensuring goods aren't damaged.
· Excellent team player with good attention to detail.
· Optimising space in the warehouse.
· Good time management skills.
· Mentoring and coaching of staff in best warehouse practices and performance.
· Reporting issues and concerns to management.
Experience & Skills:
· Candidates must have 2 years warehouse experience
· Experience working in a team lead role is preferred though not essential
· Up to date Forklift License is required.
· Experience in warehouse systems would be an advantage
· Strong Safety and Quality Awareness
· Experience of SAP system advantageous.
· Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
· Sound knowledge of GDPR principles.
· Ideally experienced in the use of MS Teams package.
· Flexibility regarding work hours.
· Energetic and enthusiastic with an ability to work on own initiative
· Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
