Overview
The Operations Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Power Station.
The role involves working in the control room, Permit Office, and on the field to support plant operations and maintenance, always in line with Grid Company demands and contractual obligations.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor the Distributed Control System, HMI, Continuous Emissions Monitoring, and all other control room and station control systems.
Ensure compliance with all site Quality Procedures, Work Instructions and EHS Policy and Procedures.
Maintain station operations within customer PPA limits and respond to variances in normal operating parameters with corrective actions.
Monitor plant and process to ensure operation follows all relevant Operating Procedures.
Conduct operations monitoring rounds in the field and support routine maintenance interventions.
Follow grid control centre instructions, report items beyond shift capabilities, and update all routines, schedules and reports with relevant plant operating data.
Report unsafe conditions, events and hazards, equipment deficiencies, and maintain records in the computerized maintenance management system.
Assist with routine testing of plant and equipment and with application of LOTO for Permit to Work generation when competent.
Qualifications
Practical Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical) or an equivalent relevant trade with significant experience.
Fluent in the local language and in English (both verbal and written).
Strong learning ability, independence, excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the capacity to work under pressure and make critical decisions.
Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Desirable Experience
Experience as an Operator in a Power Station or Industrial Facility.
Knowledge of plant water chemistry and previous power generation or continuous process experience.
Must-Have
Eligible to work in Ireland.
