This challenging position offers the opportunity to work with leading edge sensor technologies embedded in smartphones, automotive, IOT, smartwatches as well as other consumer electronics devices. Job activities span the whole product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The successful candidate will work with systems, software, and integration/test engineers in the QCT sensors group.Job ResponsibilitiesWorking with global systems and software teamsDeveloping sensor algorithms in high level languages (MATLAB, Python) including algorithm performance validationMaking effective engineering tradeoffs between performance, memory, power consumption, and computational complexityEmbedded software development in C/C++ for fixed & floating-point based designsCreating reports on algorithm evaluation results and delivering complete design and user documentationCommunication of the design, results and issues to the product management, systems and SW leadsLeading the systems projects end-to-end from requirements gathering to systems design and SW implementationMentoring and guiding junior engineersMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field with 5+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field with 3+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related.Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of basic and advanced concepts of digital signal processing, e.g., filter design, LTI systems, etc.Some experience in optimizing the DSP operations for edge AI, floating to fixed point implementation and optimizing bitwidths for embedding features on low-power devices.Understanding of linear algebra, probability and statisticsBasic Machine Learning concepts including supervised and unsupervised learning, feature extraction, classification, logistic regression, Bayesian inference and Neural NetworksEmbedded programming skills with C/C++Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced team environmentKnowledge of MEMs & inertial sensorsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsLocationCork, IrelandBenefitsSalary, stock and performance related bonusMaternity/Paternity LeaveEmployee stock purchase schemeMatching pension schemeEducation Assistance
