Overview

Susquehanna is one of the largest securities trading organizations in the United States and has a staff of over 2,500 professionals devoted to institutional sales, trading, research, and information technology. Formed in 1987 with a staff of 25, SIG has evolved into a global organization active in the markets of over 20 countries on 5 continents. We currently have offices in Philadelphia, Bala Cynwyd, New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Sydney, Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Dublin. In 1999, Susquehanna opened its European headquarters in Dublin, where it currently employs more than 700 staff in trading, quantitative research, technology, operations, compliance, legal and accounting.

Our technology engineers are employed in building, maintaining and supporting real time, trading systems that are fundamental to our success and competitiveness in the current trading environment. Susquehanna's continued success will – in large part – be based on the capabilities provided to our traders by the growing Technology and Quantitative Research Teams.

What you'll be part of:

You will be joining the static data team within the ESS (Enterprise Software Systems) development group in the Dublin Technology department. This team is responsible for various critical reference data areas within the Dublin office.

The role involves working as a static data analyst specifically focusing on the trading reference data (trading instrument definitions, reference prices, and impact of corporate actions). You will work alongside development and support teams to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data used by applications for trading, post trade, and in the studies environment.

You will be required to build financial knowledge of the vast range of products traded by Susquehanna as well as specifics of the trading venues we operate on.

This is a superb opportunity to gain exposure to the front office trading environment for someone with a keen interest in the financial markets and with a focus on tuning data sets as well as providing business and technical support to the wider teams.

The role will primarily support the front office trading desk, ensuring that the trading and trade support desks have timely and accurate data for their activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Back testing ad Studies Environment:

* Work closely with the Quant Data Engineering and Quant teams to define their reference data requirements that can be commonly used across the Quant development environment.
* Source and analysis the data sources to fulfil these requirements
* Define the target file and database structures used to provide data to the back testing and analytics environment.
* Define and implement the historical data store for instrument definitions, reference prices, and trading volume.
* Work with the Quant team to define the impact of corporate actions on the above data set.
* Use this information to define an implementation to adjust the current and historic data set by the corporate action adjustments.

Front Office trading:

* Sourcing data sets for new trading venues.
* Analysing the data sources and determining the essential fields required for instrument creation or for pricing.
* Work with the development teams to process the data.
* Work with the static data support team and business stakeholder to validate data and deploy processes to production.
* Monitor all exchange upgrades notifications. Analysis the impact of upgrades in the current data sources and drive the application of changes to ensure upgrades have a minimum impact on trading activity.
* Investigating and resolving user requests in a timely manner.
* Single point of contact for all requests and questions related to instrument reference data sourcing.
* Proactively communicating changes and updates to reduce trading/operational risks.
* Ensuring Susuqhenna processes the best available corporate actions data and is consistent in how it interprets the impact on internal data.
* Liaising with Developers, Business Analysts, Traders, Operations, Finance and Compliance teams to keep the static data up-to-date and fit for purpose.
* Maintaining a full understanding of data workflows and impact of static data changes on downstream processes and applications.
