Job Title: Horticulture Sales Expert
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Horticulture Sales Expert to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving profitable sales and consistently delivering excellent customer service.
Main Responsibilities:
* Drive profitable sales and achieve monthly/yearly targets
* Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Contribute to team meetings to drive the business forward
* Organize and execute in-store promotions and displays
* Support the development of product categories and key lines
* Work with management to ensure we provide the best product range for our customers' needs
* Cross-sell products to increase average transaction values
* Maintain accurate inventory and bookkeeping to minimize stock loss
* Minimize stock and margin loss through effective sales floor processes
* Ensure timely restocking of the store to prevent lost sales
* Provide exceptional customer service by consistently achieving service targets
* Handle all customer queries, including phone calls, in an efficient and professional manner
* Process payments and handle customer point-of-sale enquiries
* Maintain high-quality store presentation standards
* Establish effective communication channels with other team members
* Resolve common customer complaints
* Demonstrate brand ambassadorship for the company
* Share own experience and skill set to guide and support other team members
* Conduct competitor visits to identify opportunities for business growth
* Attend supplier conferences to gain expert training and knowledge
* Follow and complete assigned Health and Safety tasks
* Develop personal leadership capabilities through ongoing self-development
* Show flexibility during peak periods to support the store's needs
* Engage with other stores to share ideas and contribute to growth initiatives
* Be flexible to work across various departments and other retail stores.
* Support the manager with organizing themed events and profiling seasonal goods
* Evaluate plant care and maintenance requirements
* Maintain high display standards in the Garden Centre and assist in merchandising the shop
* Address customer complaints in a responsible manner
Required Qualifications and Skills:
* Relevant retail sales experience
* Extensive plant knowledge and expertise
* Understanding of sustainability and current trends
* Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
* Strong customer service focus
* Ability to work independently and take initiative
* Proficient computer skills with advanced Microsoft and core systems or similar IT programs
* Superior product knowledge and commercial awareness
* Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment
* Attention to detail
* Passionate individual willing to learn and grow
* Coaching experience an advantage
