About Your New Job
We are seeking an experienced Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain complex relational database systems supporting high-volume OLTP environments. You will be responsible for implementing database structures, optimizing performance, managing data transformations, and ensuring best-in-class data quality and reliability.
You will work closely with application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, while contributing to coding standards, documentation, and the change-management lifecycle.
What Skills You Need
* 5–7 years' experience in database development and relational modelling
* Strong SQL expertise and proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
* Experience developing stored procedures, functions, triggers, and business logic using PL/pgSQL, PL/SQL, or T-SQL
* Proven ability to design and optimize OLTP database models
* Strong knowledge of performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimisation
* Experience with version control for database code
* Understanding of database security and access control
* Ability to support data migration, transformation, and integration between systems
* Excellent communication, analysis, and problem-solving skills
* Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
* Financial services domain experience is an advantage
