Primary Responsibilities
Design new products, benefit features, and marketing methods for supplemental and standalone Health coverages in the group market
Develop pricing strategies and rating manuals for Health products
Manage rate filings and other regulatory reporting and certifications for Health products
Monitor mortality risks and financial experience of enrolled membership
Recommend tactical improvements to underwriting and other methods of risk selection
Create and implement predictive models to forecast claim events and policy persistency
Work with US & Irish leadership on ensuring objectives are met and leading additional team growth as required
Your leadership skills will be put to the test in this role. Not only will you be leading a new team driven and focused team, senior management will be turning to you to drive business results and provide actuarial direction to support accurate pricing. You will also need to develop the new team and lead the growth of this team going forward.
Additional Responsibilities
Evaluate industry context and external implications of new product ideas
Mentor junior staff and collaborate with other actuaries across team and enterprise
Contribute analytical expertise to full company portfolio of medical and ancillary products
Contribute technical expertise to miscellaneous projects, including competitive research and administrative process automation
Coordinate interdisciplinary initiatives to continually modernize risk management practices
Support senior management as needed, with business initiatives and strategic vision

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Fellow of Society of Actuaries (Ireland/UK, US), or near Fellow designation
Proven extensive actuarial pricing experience in health insurance or related benefits field
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Underwriters
Proven solid regulatory filings experience with health products
Demonstrated health insurance underwriting and rating knowledgeDemonstrated health insurance design and distribution knowledge
Proven strategic leadership capabilities, such as entrepreneurial creativity
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience working with health care claims experience (i.e., understanding of costs, expected claims, benefit pricing)
Proven supervisory experience of actuarial students and/or support staff
Proven predictive analytics capabilities, such as machine learning
Demonstrated data management skills in SQL or similar environment
Demonstrated programming skills (R, Python or similar)
Demonstrated data visualization skills in Tableau or similar environment
