Junior Infrastructure/Technical Specialist Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client are seeking a suitably skilled Junior Infrastructure Specialist to join their team.
This position is based in Dublin and will be working on a hybrid model with 3 days on site and 2 days off site.
This is also a temporary position; the initial contract duration is for 12 months with the possibility of extension thereafter.
Based off a 35-hour work week the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid a daily rate of €******.
Position Overview Our client is seeking a Junior Infrastructure/Technical Specialist to join their Clinical Applications team.
This role will provide technical support for their clinical systems infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and security for critical healthcare applications.
Key Responsibilities Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of clinical application servers and infrastructure Monitor system performance and respond to alerts according to established protocols Perform routine system backups and verify data integrity Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate complex problems to senior team members Assist with system patching and updates during scheduled maintenance windows Document technical procedures and maintain infrastructure diagrams Support end-users with technical issues related to clinical applications Participate in testing environments for new clinical systems and updates Required Qualifications BSc in IT, Computer Science, or related field 1-3 years of experience in IT infrastructure support Strong grasp of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) Basic understanding of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle) Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication abilities and teamwork orientation Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash) Experience with monitoring tools and ticketing systems Experience in healthcare setting (desirable) Work Environment Full-time position with occasional after-hours support for maintenance activities Fast-paced environment requiring ability to prioritise tasks effectively This role offers excellent growth opportunities to develop specialised skills in healthcare IT infrastructure while working with cutting-edge clinical technologies that directly impact patient care.
