Our mission is to enable efficiency, simplicity, and compliance in continuous design, development, integration, testing, release, delivery, and deployment of cloud-native products (microservices).We are looking for an experienced Developer Experience (DX) Engineer to join our Devportal Program, as part of the Platform Engineering (PE) mission for BCSS R&D. The Devportal ) is the single pane of glass for developers to discover software, tools, services, documentation, pipelines, and environments. It serves both future platforms (Gitxx, Azure DevOps) and existing platforms (Gerrit, Jenkins, Spinnaker), supporting Cloud Native and Non-Cloud Native products, MCP (AI), and Golden Paths.As a DX Engineer, you will design, deliver, and continuously improve the end-to-end developer experience across the portal, services, pipelines, and golden paths. Your focus will be on developer ergonomics, friction removal, and measurable outcomes—turning standards and guardrails into delightful, low-cognitive-load workflows that are secure and compliant by design. You will be a leader of our effort to create devportal obsession and champion integration with platform engineering offerings and ensure our Devportal becomes the single, intuitive entry point for building, testing, releasing, and operating software at scale.What You Will DoLead UX-driven DX design for Golden Paths and developer-friendly automation of common workflows.Enhance Internal Developer Platform and Portal usability and developer tooling (CLIs, SDKs, templates) for frictionless onboarding.Apply UX research methods (user interviews, friction logs) to identify pain points and iterate improvements.Define and track DX and UX metrics (e.g., DORA, usability scores) to measure impact.Optimize pipelines for speed, reliability, and intuitive navigation; promote reuse through inner-source catalogs.Embed compliance and security by design using policy-as-code and automated checks.Integrate cloud-native services and enable GenAI-assisted workflows for efficiency.Collaborate with PDUs and platform teams to drive adoption and continuous improvement.The Skills You BringProven experience improving developer experience and UX through portals, templates, and automation.Strong background in cloud-native, CI/CD, DevOps, and platform engineering practices.Ability to define and measure DX and UX metrics and drive data-informed improvements.Collaborative, empathetic, and effective at influencing without authority.Plus: Familiarity with Backstage, SW development platforms (example: Gitlab), GenAI-assisted workflows, and observability for developer tools.
