Health & Safety Coordinator – 9-Month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)Location:Monaghan, IrelandReports to:Head of ComplianceAbout the RoleWe're looking for an experienced and proactiveHealth & Safety Coordinatorto join our team and take the lead in developing and delivering robust Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company standards.Our operations are supported by anIntegrated Management System (IMS)aligned withISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 37301standards, reflecting our commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability.This is afull-time temporary role (up to 9 months)covering maternity leave, based at ourMonaghan site.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure full compliance with environmental, health, and safety legislation.Conduct and review workplace risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.Deliver training sessions on safe work practices and emergency protocols.Promote EHS best practices across departments to embed safety into daily operations.Maintain accurate EHS documentation, including inspection reports, audits, and training records.Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.Lead and document investigations into incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions.Support internal and external EHS audits and ensure timely completion of follow-up actions.Drive environmental sustainability initiatives and track performance.Coordinate safety meetings and encourage employee engagement in safety programs.Maintain and test emergency response plans through regular drills.What We're Looking ForEssential:Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety role.Strong understanding of ISO standards and SHE legislation.A recognised health & safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent).Excellent communication and report-writing skills.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).Full, clean driving licence.A results-driven approach with the ability to set and achieve safety objectives.Desirable:Qualification in environmental management or waste legislation compliance.Teaching/training qualification (e.g., EDI Pearson Level 3 Award in Education and Training).Internal auditing qualification (CQI/IRCA accredited).What's on OfferCompetitive salary package.Contributory pension scheme.Generous annual leave plus bank holidays.Employee Assistance Programme.Cycle-to-work scheme.Discounted healthcare plan.To hear more about this position or to discuss your suitability to please reach out to Nisha for a confidential chat on or email your CV to Your CV will not be sent to any third party without your consent.By applying here you agree to RECRUITERS storing your CV in our secure applicant tracking system (ATS; Bullhorn).
