The Opportunity
As a
Senior Quantity Surveyor
, you'll play a pivotal role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of major construction projects. You'll ensure accuracy, transparency, and efficiency while mentoring junior team members and contributing to overall success.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly, interim, and final valuations; manage applications for payment and reconciliations.
* Provide accurate data to maintain regular reviews of project cash flow and financial position.
* Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to place sub‑contracts and manage supplier agreements.
* Review contract documents thoroughly, identifying and addressing anomalies.
* Prepare, submit, and agree valuations with client representatives.
* Deliver detailed take‑offs to support Estimating, Procurement, and Planning teams.
* Prepare and agree final accounts for completed works sections.
* Record and manage details of contractual delays.
* Mentor and guide surveyors and assistants, fostering professional growth.
What We're Looking For
* 7+ years' experience, ideally with a main contractor.
* Proven track record on construction or civil engineering projects (residential and commercial).
* Chartered or working towards chartership with SCS.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Excellent IT proficiency.
