Role Description
As a Maintenance Technician within the Engineering team, you are responsible for fabrication and general maintenance in the factory, providing support for the plant facilities and services. General Maintenance will help support the Engineering and Quality teams in maintaining optimum performance.
Responsibilities:
* Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
* Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
* Plans repair work using equipment manual as needed.
* Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
* Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
* Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
* Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
* Calibrates and tests plant equipment, alarms, and instrumentation in accordance with CMMS, vendor recommendations, and contractual requirements.
* Liaises with subcontractors to ensure maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and safe manner.
* Responds promptly to plant/equipment failures with repairs or replacements, recording completion in CMMS.
* Identifies and manages appropriate spares to ensure plant reliability.
* Owns the permit to work system, including general work permits, LOTO, and hot works permits.
* Uses remote monitoring tools such as BMS to verify plant condition.
* Available to respond to plant failures outside normal hours as per roster and assist in remote troubleshooting.
* Suggests improvements to plant reliability and operational efficiency with Maintenance Lead.
* Performs general maintenance duties for plant, services, and WWTP.
* Follows safety procedures, documentation, and training requirements.
* Ensures all work is carried out accurately and diligently.
* Manages time effectively to complete work within timelines and budgets.
* Plans and coordinates shutdowns with management.
* Respects health & safety, ethical, and quality standards, both legislative and company-specific.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Language Requirements:
* Multi-skilled / cross-skilled ethos.
* Experience in facility maintenance is advantageous.
* Knowledge supporting high-volume manufacturing environments.
* Ability to interact with suppliers, internal customers, and external contractors.
* Results-driven and continuous improvement mindset.
