Position: HR Generalist Location: Galway (with support across 2 sites in Ireland) Industry: Medical Device Type: Permanent, Full-time Reports to: Onsite HR Manager About the Role: We are seeking a proactive HR Generalist to join a leading Medical Device company based in Galway. This role will play a key part in supporting HR operations across two sites in Ireland, reporting directly to the onsite HR Manager. You will be involved in the full spectrum of HR activities throughout the employee lifecycle, helping to foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and policies. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including screening and interviewing Prepare offer letters, conduct background checks, and manage onboarding logistics Facilitate new employee orientation and support exit interviews Policy, Compliance & Administration: Draft, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures Maintain accurate HRIS records and personnel files Conduct audits and prepare compliance reports Benefits & Compensation: Administer enrollment in employee benefit programs Address claims and support employees with benefit queries Performance Management & Training: Support annual reviews and ongoing performance feedback Identify training needs and coordinate career development initiatives Employee Relations & Engagement: Serve as primary HR contact for employee queries and grievances Lead investigations, handle disciplinary procedures, and resolve conflicts Organise engagement activities, recognition programmes, and culture initiatives HR Support & Reporting: Advise managers on HR matters including coaching and workforce planning Prepare HR reports and support ongoing improvement of HR policies Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience) Minimum 3 years' experience in HR generalist or specialist role, ideally within a regulated industry CIPD qualification preferred Excellent knowledge of Irish employment law and regulatory requirements Strong HRIS/data management and analysis skills Highly skilled in recruitment, employee relations, and conflict resolution Outstanding communication, organisational, and project management abilities Able to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity Working Conditions: Fully onsite office base environment in Galway with occasional moderate travel to other site Occasional requirement for after-hours support to resolve urgent HR matters Core hours: 39hrs per week Monday-Thursday: 9.00am-5.30pm Friday: 8.00am-4.00pm Benefits: Health Insurance Pension Scheme (company contribution increases with service) Death in Service Benefit Attendance Awards Employee of the Quarter/Year Recognition Christmas Bonus Long Service Awards 21 days annual leave, increasing with length of service KSGalway Should you require any support or assistance, please contact your local Gi Group office.
