This role is part of our Supply Chain Senior Management team and will report to the Director of Supply Chain.

Position Summary

The Supply Chain Customs & Compliance Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing master data governance, trade compliance (including customs agent oversight), SKU portfolio optimization (rationalization & NPD), and performance reporting across the supply chain function. Operating at the intersection of data, compliance, and product lifecycle planning, this role ensures the integrity and agility of the supply chain in support of commercial and operational goals. This position acts as the internal authority for supply chain data accuracy, customs brokerage oversight, and lifecycle-aligned decision-making across the VIE portfolio.

What you will do…

Customs Compliance & Broker Oversight


* Establish the Customs and Trade team & function within Valeo Ireland
* Manage relationships with customs brokers, regulatory bodies and oversee import/export operations via Irish Revenue (AIS, AEP) and EU-wide systems.
* Ensure all declarations comply with EU Customs Code (UCC), Irish Revenue regulations, and preferential trade agreements (e.g., EU–UK TCA)
* Stay current with Brexit-related procedures and UK–Ireland cross-border requirements (e.g., ENS, PBN, SPS documentation).
* Research and delivery of focused communication on relevant current, new, and emerging legislative and regulatory updates.
* Coordinate with Revenue Customs, DAFM, and HSE where applicable for regulatory clearance of goods.
* Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve any customs holds, discrepancies, or compliance risks.
* Maintain accurate records for customs audits and regulatory reporting, ensuring timely filing of all required documentation in Thyme-IT.
* Support the maintenance and ongoing compliance of the company’s Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status, including audit readiness, internal controls, and customs process integrity.

Master Data Management

* Lead master data governance across product, supplier, and trade fields in ERP systems (e.g., IFS, Relex).
* Ensure data quality for supply chain-critical fields: HS codes, units of measure, packaging specs, shelf life, minimum order quantities, run rates, containerization, etc.
* Develop data quality internal controls and validation checks ensuring validated and correct records for all supply chain critical fields business wide.

SKU Rationalization & Lifecycle Input

* Responsible for overall net working capital target achievement.
* Drive SKU rationalization efforts by analyzing volume, profitability, market distribution, reliability and lifecycle stage.
* Partner with Commercial, Category, Procurement, Supply Planning, Warehousing & Manufacturing to evaluate cost-to-serve (CTS) and remove obsolete or low-performing SKUs.
* Ensure supply chain readiness during new product introductions and product discontinuations by validating customs, manufacturing, operational and data inputs.
* Represent Supply Chain on Category Development Project teams across all categories.

Reporting & Business Contingency

* Responsible for all supply chain & manufacturing reporting for Exco & Group.
* Lead a strategic review of all existing reporting across the division, identify duplication, redundancies and gaps, and consolidate into a streamlined, standardized reporting suite.
* Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on KPIs, data sources, and reporting cadence.
* Documenting all customs and Trade related policies and procedures.
* Annual maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan for supply chain & manufacturing
* Develop and own dashboards and reports covering customs performance, trade risk exposure, SKU efficiency and master data integrity.

Leadership & Collaboration

* Provide leadership & peer manager coverage across the supply chain function to ensure continuity of decision-making and team support.
* Act as the link between Commercial, Planning, Quality and IT to ensure synchronized master data and compliant trade operations.
* Support training programs & documentation to build internal capabilities around data quality, systems usage and customs compliance.
* Partner with Finance, Quality, Procurement, and Planning to influence supply chain design and sourcing strategies through operational insights into regulatory barriers, origin and classification requirements, and product portfolio efficiency — ensuring compliant and cost-effective trade flows.

What you have…

* 3rd level degree in relevant discipline
* 3+ years’ experience in Supply chain, Planning, Procurement, data management or customs operations,, preferably in FMCG, pharma, or manufacturing.
* Strong expertise in Irish customs, EU trade regulations, Brexit rules, and product classification.
* Skilled in overseeing and liaising with customs brokers/agents and ensuring regulatory adherence
* Proven experience in working with ERP/Planning/Project systems and master data governance
* Knowledge of AEO certification requirements (AEOC/AEOS) and experience liaising with customs authorities is highly desirable.
* Advanced Excel skills and strong understanding of data structures and reporting frameworks
* Hands-on experience with reporting tools and dashboard creation, especially Power BI and Excel
* Proven track record in master data management and SKU rationalization in FMCG or fast-moving sectors
* Excellent project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives and process improvements
* Strong communication skills, able to influence and collaborate across finance, procurement, planning, and operations
* Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle complex regulatory and operational challenges

Preferred Certifications

A recognized certification in customs compliance or international trade (e.g. Irish Exporters Association Diploma in Customs Compliance, CILT Ireland certifications, or equivalent)

Professional accreditation in supply chain or operations (e.g. APICS CSCP, CILT, or CIPS)
