Financial Controller – Maternity Cover (12 Months) – up to €90,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Controller to lead the accounting team of an exclusive family-owned property business in picturesque Northeast of Ireland. This is a 12-month maternity cover contract, ideal for an experienced finance professional looking to work in a unique environment and as part of the senor leadership team.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts
* Reconcile control and balance sheet accounts with accuracy and diligence
* Manage cash flow, banking, payments, and ensure VAT compliance
* Prepare weekly financial and operational reports for the management team as required
* Oversee the accurate preparation and posting of all journals to close accounting periods
* Review weekly payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance
* Prepare and file all tax returns and statutory filings
* Provide analytical support to all operational areas of the business, collaborating closely with the CEO, General Manager and HR
* Manage relationships with external service providers, including auditors and consultants
* Mentor and manage the experienced accounts department (team of 4)
* Handle other ad hoc finance tasks as required in a dynamic and varied environment
Requirements
* ACA/ACCA qualification, with relevant post-qualification experience
* Ability to take ownership of a broad portfolio of financial responsibilities
* Proficiency in accounting software and strong computer skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a collaborative approach
* Meticulous attention to detail and a natural problem solver
* Experience in managing and mentoring a finance team
* Background in hospitality, property, estate management or a similar sector is desirable
Remuneration
* Salary up to €90,000 plus completion bonus
