We are looking for an experienced
DITA / XML Enginee
r who enjoys working
below the surface
: designing robust DITA-OT solutions, extending toolchains, and shaping how structured content is produced, transformed, and delivered at scale
This is a developer role focused on XML, transformations, automation, and integration.
Key responsibilities:
* Designing and extending
DITA Open Toolkit
solutions used across large documentation ecosystems
* Developing
XSLT / XSL-FO transformations
powering PDF, HTML, WebHelp and product-integrated outputs
* Maintaining and evolving
DITA DTDs / schemas
for structured, component-based content
* Building
plugins, APIs and automation
(Java, scripting, Jenkins pipelines)
* Integrating with authoring and publishing platforms (e.g. Tridion Docs, Oxygen)
* Troubleshooting complex transformation, schema and pipeline issues in production environments
You will work closely with
engineering, tooling, and structured authoring teams
, acting as the technical backbone between content and systems.
For this role, we are looking
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (engineering, computer science, technical writing) or equivalent work experience
* Min. 5 years of work experience in similar position (DITA or HML centric development)
* Technical aptitude and expertise with DITA XML, DITA-OT, common transform languages, and content-related tools
* Understanding of content components and how they structurally relate to DITA
* Scripting languages with an XML parser (Python XML Processing Modules or PHP SimpleXML Parser)
* Advanced GitHub (Git Actions, collaboration through Pull Requests and Jira Communications),
* Proven experience in PowerShell and MS Power BI,
* Good knowledge of development security best practices. (Secret/Token management, least privilege service accounts, exposure of company IP, etc.)
* Content migration experience is a plus.
* Good verbal and written communication skills in English
