OverviewRole Title: Senior Consumer Pricing and Portfolio ActuaryRole Location: Dublin/Hybrid | Company: Vhi Insurance DacA full-time and permanent position has arisen within Vhi for the Senior Consumer Pricing and Portfolio Actuary role. We’re looking for a strategic leader to drive growth and deliver commercial success through expert pricing and portfolio management. This senior role leads two high-performing teams—Consumer Pricing and Portfolio Management—responsible for pricing Vhi’s PMI products and shaping portfolio strategy across member and product segments.Reporting to the Head of Underwriting within our Commercial Markets & Product division, the role offers a blend of strategic influence and team leadership. Based in Dublin with Hybrid working options.Role PurposeWork with the Head of Underwriting to provide a best-in-class approach to consumer pricing of the health insurance business (at portfolio, product and benefit level) to support Vhi achieving business targets.Lead and drive success in Vhi’s portfolio strategy, providing regular expert reporting for senior management.Work closely with the Commercial Markets and Product teams, as well the Group Customer Office and Sales divisions, to support the delivery of innovative new propositions for customers.Promote the development of advanced analytical techniques, working closely with the Group Analytics & Insights team to leverage the value of highly sophisticated models across the company.Develop and manage your team, including managing process for peer reviewing and monitoring all pricing activities carried out by the team, as appropriate.Promote a culture of innovation within the team, allowing imaginative approaches to be developed to deliver better customer outcomes.Engage with multiple stakeholders across the company and with external regulators.Qualifications and ExperienceQualified Actuary with minimum 5 years PQE.Strong leadership skills and management experience with the ability to motivate others.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Clear analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to identify and lead continuous development opportunities.Highly motivated, innovative and target driven with the ability to manage multiple projects.Demonstrated alignment to Vhi values.Skills and AbilitiesStrategic Leadership – Ability to lead and manage cross-functional actuarial and analytical teams, driving commercial outcomes through pricing and portfolio strategy.Actuarial Expertise – Strong technical knowledge in health insurance pricing, particularly in a community-rated market, with experience in developing and implementing pricing models.Portfolio Management – Design and execute portfolio strategies that align with business goals across diverse customer and product segments.Stakeholder Engagement – Skilled in communicating complex actuarial insights to senior management and influencing commercial decisions within a regulated environment.OtherThis is a CF1 role in line with central bank requirements.
